A big obedient leap of faith!

Updated: Jul 6, 2019

For more than a year and a half, I have felt the Lord nudging me to get back online and share life with others--lessons, resources, and any kind of helpful information. But I had a whole list of reasons why I should not do this. Here are some of those reasons that kept swirling around in my head:

  • I am not a writer.

  • I have enough on my plate to do already!

  • Fear that I would not follow through or keep up with it, so why start?!

  • Fear that others would think I'm trying to make a name for myself.

  • I didn't want to give time and energy to something that no one would be interested in.

  • Who reads websites anymore? I should just stick to Instagram or Facebook.

But, love is greater than all those fears I listed!!! I want to love the Lord, walk in obedience, and love others along the way. As the Lord kept nudging me, the reasons for getting back online kept growing and growing, and here is why I've decided to enter back into the online domain!

  • I do love to share helpful information, and instead of typing, forwarding, and retyping texts and emails, I now have a place of which to provide information for others whether it is a recipe, list of books on a topic, my favorite links, or even just my thoughts.

  • I do not at all see this as a space where I am trying to promote myself, but it's a place where I share information and do so for the purpose of helping others and pointing them to things that have been helpful for me.

  • This is my own space, and while I will seek to write and communicate well, I am not going to get caught up in perfection. I will do my best to work with excellency in all things, but I will no longer allow perfection or approval of others to keep me from sharing life and offering what I can to others. Thanks for the grace!

  • I think there is still a place for sharing more information instead of quick social media snapshots and one-liners, and I also believe that one day we might tire of all the quick, fast-paced consumption of information we hardly return to or use for benefit. I want to provide a space where helpful information, links, and resources will remain so that if you find something helpful, you are free to return and find it again--this is why I chose a website/blog over social media.

I am a dreamer, and I am so thankful that I have a husband that listens to my dreams. For some, he reigns me in, calms me down, and keeps me grounded and realistic! For others, he encourages, boosts, prays, and makes them happen! For this dream, I like to say he pushed me into the pool and made me start swimming. This past Christmas, he gifted me the domain www.brandygainor.com, and helped me get it going. While at first, I was like, NO!, I have become very thankful to get started. I'm finally putting it out there for takers.

If you have any specific topics or things you'd like for me to share about, please fill out the contact form below or email me.

Please do pray for me to walk in obedience and confidence. It's quite a vulnerable thing to put your thoughts, ideas, and opinions out into the world. This is especially difficult for a recovering people pleaser like me, but I am loving the amazing blessing of getting over myself, taking risks, and living for the audience of one and serving others along the way.
